Description: Republic 2021 is a compelling story set in India, beginning in 1970 with Kolleru Lake, a significant freshwater lake crucial for fishing and farming. Over four decades, the lake faced severe pollution due to fishing farms primarily owned by Vishaka Vani. The narrative follows Panja Abhiram, an intelligent yet arrogant individual from Eluru, who values honesty and truthfulness after witnessing corruption within his own family. His father, Dashrath, a corrupt government official, estranges Abhiram, who later earns a seat at MIT. However, after his father’s involvement in election manipulation, Abhiram decides to delve into politics to bring change.
Along the way, Abhiram meets Myra Hansen, an NRI searching for her missing brother Varun, who was last seen with a local goon named Guna. Vishaka Vani rises to power as the Central Minister of Andhra Pradesh through a rigged election. Abhiram encounters Mani, an auto driver, and his father, who are fighting for justice against Vani. Meanwhile, Myra discovers Varun’s death, but the police offer no support, leaving the case unresolved. After passing the UPSC exam, Abhiram attends an interview but experiences a PTSD episode on the train, witnessing Mani’s murder by Guna, who works under Vani’s orders.
Despite his mental state, Abhiram attends the interview but is initially rejected due to his mindset. Days later, he is appointed as the District Collector, chosen by the UPSC board as an experiment to grant him supreme authority, free from political interference. In his new role, Abhiram focuses on capturing Guna, eventually succeeding. However, they find Myra unconscious at the scene, adding another layer of complexity to the story. The film explores themes of justice, corruption, and the resilience of the human spirit.
