Description: The 1997 film “Ziddi” revolves around Deva, a fiercely protective and hot-tempered young man played by Sunny Deol. Living with his father Ashok Pradhan (Anupam Kher), brother Akash (Sachin Khedekar), and sister Guddi (Richa Ahuja), Deva’s anger stems from his deep concern for his family’s safety. One day, when a man named Vilas attempts to molest Guddi, Deva reacts violently, severing the man’s hand. This act lands Deva in prison for four years.
After his release, Deva and his allies establish a vigilante justice system called “Deva Ki Adaalat,” where he targets and punishes those who exploit the poor. His actions quickly earn him a place among the city’s top criminals, alongside Jindaal (Raj Babbar), Laal Singh (Shahbaz Khan), and Khan (Sharat Saxena). These men see Deva as a threat to their illegal operations and plot to eliminate him.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Inder Saxena (Ashish Vidyarthi), who shares a friendly relationship with Deva’s family, secretly works to gather evidence against him. Meanwhile, Jaya (Raveena Tandon), a club dancer, becomes romantically involved with Deva. As the story unfolds, Inder marries Guddi, further intertwining the lives of the characters.
One pivotal moment occurs when Akash overhears the three crime bosses conspiring to assassinate the Chief Minister and frame Deva for the crime. In his haste to escape, Akash accidentally leaves behind a clue that could expose the conspiracy.
“Ziddi” is a tale of justice, vengeance, and familial loyalty, set against the backdrop of crime and corruption.
