**Storyline:**
Maya, a CIA analyst, is assigned the critical mission of locating Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. In 2003, she is stationed at the U.S. embassy in Pakistan. Alongside CIA officer Dan, she witnesses the interrogation of Ammar, a detainee linked to the September 11 hijackers, who is subjected to harsh interrogation techniques. Ammar provides unreliable information about a potential attack in Saudi Arabia but reveals the identity of bin Laden’s personal courier, Abu Ahmed al-Kuwaiti. Further intelligence connects Abu Ahmed to Abu Faraj al-Libbi, strengthening Maya’s belief in his significance.
In 2005, Faraj denies knowing Abu Ahmed, which Maya interprets as an attempt to hide his importance. By 2009, during the Camp Chapman attack, Maya loses her close friend and fellow officer, Jessica, in a suicide bombing. A case manager shares new intelligence with Maya: a Jordanian detainee claims Abu Ahmed was buried in 2001. Maya discovers that Ibrahim Sayeed had traveled under Abu Ahmed’s name, leading her to believe her lead might still be alive. She contacts Dan, now a senior officer at CIA headquarters, and speculates that the CIA’s photo of Ahmed is actually his brother, Habeeb, who died in Afghanistan. The brothers’ similar appearance explains the earlier report of Ahmed’s death.
With the help of a Kuwaiti prince, who trades Sayeed’s mother’s phone number for a luxury car, Maya’s team in Pakistan tracks a caller exhibiting suspicious behavior. They trace the vehicle to a compound in Abbottabad. After a targeted attack on Maya, her cover is compromised, and she is recalled to Washington, D.C.
