Description: The film “Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu” released in 2012 follows the story of Varun (played by Nani), who secures admission into an engineering college. During a cultural event, Varun encounters his childhood sweetheart, Nithya (played by Samantha), who is performing in a dance show. He rekindles their bond by singing on stage and later meeting her. The narrative then takes a flashback to their early school days when they were in the third grade. A small incident brings them closer, and their friendship grows. However, a misunderstanding drives Nithya to cut ties with Varun and avoid talking to him. Fate reunites them in the tenth grade, where Nithya initially keeps her distance but eventually resumes their friendship after Varun bridges the gap.
In school, Nithya is elected as a pupil leader and frequently interacts with Deepak, another pupil leader, which creates tension with Varun, leading to another fallout. The story shifts back to their college days, where they meet again, set aside their past differences, and rekindle their friendship, eventually falling in love. During a vacation, Nithya travels abroad, leaving Varun behind. Meanwhile, Varun’s elder brother, who works in a software company, wishes to marry his colleague and discusses this with their parents. However, the marriage negotiations turn humiliating for the family. Varun, while comforting them, realizes their selfless love and decides to focus more on his studies, preparing for CAT.
When Nithya returns to India, she notices Varun’s absence due to his busy schedule but initially understands his dedication. However, after discovering his plans to join IIM Kozhikode, she proposes to accompany him. Varun declines, citing the financial burden of renting a place outside the hostel, which leads to a heated argument and another breakup.
