The storyline follows a group of four orphans who rise in the world of crime through smuggling, bootlegging, and arms trafficking. Despite their violent activities, they manage to evade the police until they become involved with leftist rebels.
The film focuses on the friendship and struggles of the four men: Phagun, Mitwa, Rizwan, and Bahadur. While Phagun and Mitwa’s backstories are briefly explored, Rizwan is portrayed as a charismatic character, and Bahadur’s role feels underdeveloped. When Sukanya enters their lives, the gang begins gun-running for rebels, leading to their arrest.
Phagun, Rizwan, and Bahadur later leave crime behind and become businessmen, while Mitwa reappears years later, disrupting their lives. The film suffers from inconsistent pacing, weak character development, and a lack of emotional depth. Despite its focus on friendship, the narrative often feels hollow, and the performances are limited by the script.
Yara struggles to balance its various elements, ultimately falling short of expectations. While it includes action sequences showcasing Vidyut Jammwal’s skills, the film fails to deliver a compelling or cohesive story.
