**Plot Summary:**
In Virginia, a rancher stumbles upon dead bodies on his property and is subsequently killed by intruders. These attackers use specialized explosives to breach an NSA bunker hidden beneath the horse farm. Agent Augustus Gibbons fights off the assailants and narrowly escapes. His assistant, Toby Shavers, informs him that the NSA bunker attack has also led to the presumed death of Xander Cage in Bora Bora.
To find a replacement, Gibbons enlists Lieutenant Darius Stone, a former U.S. Navy SEAL serving a 20-year sentence in Leavenworth for disobeying orders and assaulting ex-General George Deckert, who is now the Secretary of Defense. Gibbons helps Stone escape prison. Stone reunites with his former partner, Zeke, and his ex-girlfriend, Lola Jackson, who now owns an exotic car shop.
Stone is tasked with recovering a hard drive from the NSA bunker. During the mission, he evades NSA Agent Kyle Steele. Meanwhile, Gibbons is attacked at home and presumed dead, with Deckert and Sergeant Cobb conspiring to cover up the incident. Stone meets Gibbons’ contact, Charlie Mayweather, for intel but is framed for the murder of General Jack Pettibone when Mayweather betrays him.
After escaping a police raid, Stone learns that Shavers has hacked into the Pentagon to uncover Deckert’s plans. Stone infiltrates Deckert’s forces aboard an aircraft carrier, discovering Gibbons is alive but imprisoned. Despite Mayweather alerting Deckert’s troops, Gibbons orders Stone to escape. Stone retrieves the plans and battles his way off the ship in a tank, ultimately uncovering Deckert’s plot to stage a coup against President James Sanford.”
