**Storyline:**
The intense battle between Wolverine and Weapon XI escalates to the top of a nuclear power plant’s cooling tower. Weapon XI gains the upper hand and nearly decapitates Wolverine, but Victor, Wolverine’s brother, steps in to help. Together, the brothers manage to decapitate Weapon XI. Its severed head, still emitting optic blasts, falls into the cooling tower. Despite Victor’s assistance, Wolverine coldly declares that their relationship is over.
Victor, however, reminds Wolverine that their bond as brothers can never truly end, then leaps off the tower. The optic blasts cause the cooling tower to collapse, but Gambit rescues Wolverine. Wolverine asks Gambit to ensure the safety of the prisoners while he returns to find Silverfox, who stayed behind due to her injuries. As Wolverine carries her to safety, Stryker shoots him in the back with an adamantium bullet. Enraged, Wolverine charges at Stryker but is shot in the head, rendering him unconscious.
Stryker then approaches Silverfox and prepares to kill her, but she uses her powers of persuasion to force him to discard his weapon and walk away until his feet bleed. Silverfox succumbs to her injuries shortly after. Gambit returns to inform Wolverine that the mutants are safe, but Wolverine, suffering from amnesia caused by the brain damage inflicted by the adamantium bullets, remembers nothing (exactly as Stryker had intended). Gambit encourages Wolverine to join him, but Wolverine refuses. After wishing him good luck, Gambit departs, and Wolverine flees the scene as authorities arrive.
