**Storyline:**
Patrick Stewart’s character, Charles Xavier, explains how humans created sentinels to hunt and eliminate mutants. Initially designed to target mutants, the sentinels later began pursuing humans with the potential to become mutants. These events led to a post-apocalyptic world where only a few mutants remain, struggling to survive and avoid extinction by the relentless sentinels.
The story unfolds as three mysterious objects are ejected from a massive airship and crash to the ground. Warpath realizes that the sentinels have located their hideout and alerts Blink to warn the others, including Colossus, Sunspot, Bishop, Iceman, and Kitty Pryde. Bishop quickly asks Sunspot to provide him with fire energy, which he absorbs and channels into his advanced rifle.
As Bishop and Kitty Pryde prepare to escape, the rest of the mutants form a defensive circle to confront the invading sentinels. The sentinels, capable of altering their bodies into various forms and tools, drill into the mutants’ base. Sunspot confronts the first sentinel, engulfing it in flames. Colossus battles the second but is overpowered by its immense strength. Warpath attempts to assist but is thrown aside.
Meanwhile, the third sentinel intercepts Bishop and Kitty. Bishop fires a powerful energy blast, but it barely affects the sentinel. Blink uses her portal abilities to create an escape route for the two mutants. She also opens a portal for Iceman to join the fight. Iceman skillfully maneuvers around the sentinel, trapping it in a thick wall of ice.
Kitty and Bishop eventually reach a secure room, where Kitty instructs Bishop to lie down. Placing her hands around his head, he loses consciousness. Meanwhile, the sentinels continue to dominate the battle. In a critical moment, Colossus throws a punch that a sentinel catches, causing his metal skin to begin spreading over the sentinel as well.
The mutants face a desperate struggle to survive in a world where the sentinels grow ever more powerful and relentless.
