Description: The 2000 film *X-Men* explores the concept of evolution and the emergence of mutants—beings with extraordinary abilities—who coexist alongside humans. While evolution typically unfolds over thousands of years, certain rare occurrences can lead to the sudden appearance of mutants. In this story, Professor Charles Xavier, a mutant with the power to control thoughts and actions, leads a peaceful group of mutants seeking harmony with humans. His team includes Dr. Jean Grey, who possesses telepathic and telekinetic abilities; Cyclops, known for his optic blast powers; and Storm, who can manipulate weather.
On the opposing side is Magneto, a mutant with tragic origins during Nazi-occupied Poland, who now harbors a deep resentment toward humanity. His group includes Sabretooth, Toad, and Mystique, each with unique abilities. Magneto’s ultimate goal is to oppose humans, especially after Senator Robert Kelly proposes the “Mutant Registration Act,” which would require mutants to disclose their identities publicly.
Meanwhile, a young mutant named Marie, also known as Rogue, discovers her ability to drain energy and powers through touch. Fleeing her home in Mississippi, she encounters Wolverine (Logan), a mutant with regenerative healing and retractable claws. After an attack by Sabretooth, they are rescued by Cyclops and Storm and brought to Professor Xavier’s mansion. Xavier’s facility, disguised as a school, educates young mutants on responsibly using their powers. The X-Men aim to prevent Magneto from inciting a war between mutants and humans. As Rogue integrates into the school, she forms a connection with Bobby Drake, another student.
