Description: Former UN field agent Gerry Lane, along with his wife Karin and their two young daughters, Rachel and Connie, find themselves caught in heavy traffic in Philadelphia when the city is suddenly overrun by zombies. Amid the chaos, the Lane family escapes to Newark, New Jersey, seeking refuge in an apartment with a Hispanic couple and their young son, Tommy. However, they are forced to flee again with Tommy when zombies attack the apartment, leaving the parents infected. Gerry’s old friend, UN Deputy Secretary-General Thierry Umutoni, arranges for a helicopter to rescue the Lanes, transporting them to a U.S. Navy vessel in the Atlantic Ocean. There, scientists and military personnel are analyzing the global outbreak. A young virologist, Andrew Fassbach, suggests that the plague is caused by a virus and that finding its origin is crucial for developing a vaccine. Gerry is told that his family will be evicted unless he assists Fassbach in locating the source of the outbreak.
Gerry, Fassbach, and a small SEAL team travel to Camp Humphreys, a military base in South Korea, but they are attacked by zombies. In the chaos, Fassbach accidentally shoots himself and dies. Surviving soldiers rescue the team, and Gerry learns that the infection was introduced to the base by its doctor. A former CIA operative imprisoned at the base directs Gerry to Jerusalem, where the Mossad established a safe zone before the outbreak was officially recognized. Zombies attack once more as the team attempts to return to their plane, leaving only Gerry and the pilot to escape.

After narrowly escaping the initial chaos, Lane is convinced to embark on a mission to investigate the disease. His journey takes him across the globe, where he faces terrifying dangers and overwhelming odds in a race to uncover the truth before human civilization collapses.
