Description: Adam Petrazelli, a high school senior, experiences a psychotic break at school, leading to a schizophrenia diagnosis. He joins a medical trial to manage his condition, accompanied by visions of Rebecca, Joaquin, and “The Bodyguard,” along with a menacing voice. After transferring to St. Agatha’s Catholic School, Adam begins taking new medication but suffers side effects like muscle twitching. He befriends Maya, who tutors him, yet he keeps his condition hidden. Following another psychotic episode during dinner with his mother, Adam stops taking the medication.
At an outdoor screening of Maya’s favorite film, *Never Been Kissed*, Rebecca and Joaquin urge Adam to confess his feelings for Maya, but a deep voice exploits his insecurities. He reveals his anxiety about his mother’s new child with Paul, apologizes, and asks Maya to prom despite her reservations. She agrees, and they share their first kiss. Adam’s academic performance improves, and his essay is selected for graduation. However, his mother discovers he stopped taking his medication and scolds him.
Sister Catherine learns about Adam’s past incident and the medication issue from his parents. To ensure student safety, the school suspends him temporarily instead of expelling him. Adam confronts Paul for emailing Sister Catherine, suspecting his motives. Despite being barred from prom due to the suspension, Adam defies orders and attends anyway.
