**Storyline:**
In 2013, Princess Diana of Themyscira, the home of the warrior Amazons, rescues US pilot Captain Steve Trevor from a Parademon attack. Diana uses a purple healing ray to treat him, but he is captured by Queen Hippolyta, Diana’s mother, for breaking the island’s “no men” rule. Defying her mother, Diana helps Steve escape, sensing a prophecy about an otherworldly invasion linked to his arrival. When Hippolyta demands Steve’s return, Diana chooses to leave Themyscira to protect the human world, leading to her mother disowning her. Diana and Steve arrive in Washington, D.C., where they meet geologist Julia Kapatelis and her daughter Vanessa. Vanessa becomes jealous as her mother bonds with Diana, who decides to stay in the human world as the superheroine Wonder Woman.
Five years later, Julia seeks Diana and Steve’s help to find Vanessa, who has stolen an artifact and plans to trade it with the villainous Doctor Poison. During a confrontation with Poison’s soldiers and Giganta, Julia is fatally killed in the crossfire. Vanessa blames Diana for her mother’s death and flees. Later, while visiting her mother’s grave, Vanessa is recruited by Doctor Poison and Doctor Cyber, who transform her into Silver Swan.
Diana and Steve track Poison to Qurac, where they are attacked by Silver Swan, now revealed to be Vanessa. Diana defeats her, but Poison escapes with a bioweapon prototype. Taking the unconscious Vanessa to Cale Pharmaceuticals, Diana attempts to use the purple healing ray to reverse her transformation. However, Diana cannot recall the location of Themyscira due to a mystical block. Veronica Cale informs Diana that she must drink water from the temple of Pasiphaë to regain her memory of the island’s location.
