Description: “Wonder Park” is a 2019 animated film that tells the story of June Bailey, a creative and imaginative young girl. Together with her mother, June invents the magical amusement park Wonderland, which is run by a group of animal characters. These include Boomer, a friendly blue bear; Greta, a wild boar; Gus and Cooper, beaver brothers; Steve, a porcupine who manages park safety and harb feelings for Greta; and Peanut, the park’s chimpanzee leader who can design rides by listening to June’s mother’s voice.
As June’s mother falls ill and leaves for treatment, June becomes disconnected from Wonderland and burns the park’s blueprints in frustration. Later, her father sends her to math camp. After misinterpreting a note as a cry for help, June escapes the bus and stumbles upon a dilapidated Wonderland in the woods. The park is now threatened by a dark cloud called the Darkness. June and the animals try to repair the park’s Clockwork Swings but are attacked by Chimpanzombies—former plush toys now controlled by the Darkness.
Separated from the group, June discovers Peanut hiding in Zero-G Land, where he admits he felt lost after the voice in his head disappeared. June realizes the Darkness stems from her own cynicism caused by her mother’s illness. Although the Chimpanzombies capture Peanut, June escapes. She returns to the animals, confesses her role in creating the Darkness, and fixes a park attraction to catch up with them. Together, they unite to save Peanut and restore Wonderland.
