**Storyline:**
A documentary crew follows four vampire roommates—Viago, Vladislav, Deacon, and Petyr—living together in a flat in Wellington’s Te Aro suburb. Each vampire possesses supernatural abilities, such as levitation and transforming into animals.
Viago, a 379-year-old dandy from the 17th century, moved to New Zealand in the 1910s to find his lost love, Katherine. Vladislav, an 862-year-old known as “Vladislav the Poker,” is haunted by memories of his nemesis, “the Beast.” Deacon, a 183-year-old former peddler, is the youngest of the group and was turned into a vampire by Petyr, an 8,000-year-old recluse who behaves like a feral animal.
Every night, Viago, Vladislav, and Deacon venture into Wellington to hunt for victims. Deacon’s human familiar, Jackie, assists the vampires by running errands and cleaning up after their kills. Jackie, a married mother, hopes to gain immortality but is frustrated that Deacon hasn’t turned her into a vampire as promised. When asked to bring virgins for feeding, Jackie lures an old school bully and her ex-boyfriend, Nick, to the flat. While the woman is killed, Nick is turned into a vampire by Petyr.
Two months later, Nick is accepted into the group, and they bond with his human friend, Stu, a tech-savvy computer analyst who introduces them to modern technology. Using the internet, Viago reunites with Katherine, now a 96-year-old widow, and briefly reconnects with his former servant, Philip.
