Description: In Indiana during July 1988, Alexis Butler and her friends Val and Bev are on their way to a heavy metal concert when a milkshake is thrown onto their windshield from a blue van. At the event, they spot the same van, and Val tosses a firecracker inside, prompting the three boys in the van—Ivan, Kovacs, and Mark, who is preparing to move to Los Angeles—to come out. Alexis invites the group to her father’s empty mansion after the show. While Bev and Mark show mutual interest, Bev avoids getting too close. During a game of Never Have I Ever, the girls spike the boys’ drinks and reveal their plan to murder them, disguising it as a Satanic ritual killing.
The girls are part of a church called The Daughters of the Dawn, which has orchestrated 18 similar murders to instill fear and attract followers. Alexis, the most unhinged of the trio, kills Ivan after he criticizes her faith in Jesus Christ. Mark and Kovacs manage to escape briefly, hiding in a pantry. Meanwhile, Alexis’s soon-to-be ex-stepmother, Susan, returns home to collect her passport and notices the strange blue van and the lights on in the house. She discovers Ivan’s body and is also killed by Alexis.
When a police officer arrives, he becomes suspicious and chases Alexis back into the house. He finds the injured Kovacs and Mark, who beg for help, but Val ambushes him, steals his gun, and shoots him. As Alexis and Val argue over the weapon, Bev intervenes, threatening them with an electric motor. While Alexis and Val claim they are doing the Lord’s work, Bev decides to spare Mark and Kovacs.
