Description: In 1983 Minnesota, serial killer Phil targets Carrie, a woman who secretly hunts serial killers. Outside a motel, Carrie surprises Phil by stabbing him in the throat after he locks her in his car. Joel, a film critic for the horror magazine *Vicious Fanatics*, interviews B-movie director Jack Portwood. Joel shares his idea for a film about a serial-killing taxicab driver. Returning home, Joel sees his roommate Sarah being dropped off by her new boyfriend Bob. Jealous and curious, Joel follows Bob to a Chinese restaurant. At the bar, Bob unknowingly mocks Sarah’s “pitiable roommate” before leaving Joel with the bill and disappearing with another woman.
Drunk and disoriented, Joel stumbles into a supply closet and passes out. When he wakes, the restaurant is closed. He wanders into the dining room, where Zachary leads a self-help meeting attended by Carrie, Fritz, Mike, and Hideo. Mistaking Joel for Phil, the group welcomes him. Joel soon realizes he’s among serial killers and pretends to be one, using his movie idea to blend in. When Bob returns and exposes Joel’s true identity, the killers debate how to deal with him. Zachary’s overbearing authority prompts Mike, Bob, and Fritz to kill him, creating chaos. Carrie locks herself and Joel in the kitchen, revealing she’s part of a secret organization dedicated to assassinating serial killers.
As Fritz tries to break in, Carrie severs his fingers. Hideo sneaks in through a vent, but Joel tricks him, allowing Carrie to strangle him with Phil’s intestines. Meanwhile, Bob discovers Joel’s driver’s license, realizing he’s Sarah’s roommate. Bob threatens to kill Sarah, prompting Joel to confess his feelings for her to Carrie. Together, Joel and Carrie navigate a deadly game of survival, blending suspense and dark humor as they confront the killers.
