**Storyline:**
Lilly and Gerri, best friends, spend their final summer together in New York before heading off to college. At Brighton Beach, they contemplate swimming nude, and Gerri impulsively removes her shirt and runs into the water, with Lilly following. On their way back, they encounter David, an ice cream vendor, and share an awkward conversation. David takes a picture of Lilly from behind. Upon returning home, Lilly is shocked to see her father kissing another woman in his office. Seeking comfort, she spends the evening with Gerri’s lively and open family, which contrasts sharply with her own cold and distant household. The two girls make a pact to lose their virginity before leaving for college.
While Lilly works as a boat tour guide in Manhattan, David secretly watches her. He shows interest in Lilly, which she keeps from Gerri, while Gerri develops feelings for David despite his lack of reciprocation. David asks Lilly out on a date, and she agrees. Meanwhile, Lilly’s mother discovers her husband’s affair and demands he leave the house, despite Lilly’s objections. Lilly begins spending more time with David, and they share a kiss.
Gerri invites David to an open mic night where she performs a song she wrote for him. Unbeknownst to her, David holds Lilly’s hand under the table. Later, Lilly’s boss flirts with her, hinting at lucrative night shifts. On her way home, Lilly finds David waiting outside her house; they kiss and end up having sex in the garage. The next morning, Lilly encounters her father, who apologizes for his affair and invites her to dinner, which she declines. David later sneaks into her home through the bathroom window. They shower together and spend the day exploring the city.
