Description: Fahri bin Abdillah, a diligent and ambitious young man, receives a scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in Islamic studies at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt. To support his education, his parents sell their rice field. Fahri is committed to achieving his goals through hard work and discipline, planning to marry only after his thesis is accepted. Having limited interactions with women beyond his mother and grandmother, Fahri’s life takes a turn when he encounters several women during his time in Egypt.
Maria Girgis, a Coptic Christian neighbor, admires Fahri for his deep knowledge of the Quran, though she only confesses her feelings in her diary. Nurul, an Indonesian student and daughter of a respected Muslim cleric, is unaware of her growing attraction to Fahri, making him feel unworthy. Noura, a humble Egyptian neighbor, sympathizes with Fahri’s scholarship struggles but misinterprets her emotions, leading to a false accusation of rape.
Fahri’s heart is captivated by Aisha’s beauty, and she falls for him after he defends Islam against narrow-minded views during a metro encounter. Before marriage, Fahri strives to balance his personal desires with his religious faith, seeking a meaningful relationship that aligns with his beliefs.
