Description: Stacy (Krysten Ritter) and Goody (Alicia Silverstone) are two vampires living happily in New York City. Goody, turned into a vampire in 1841 by Ciccerus (Sigourney Weaver), found it hard to adjust to her new life until she met Stacy, who was transformed in the early 1990s. Goody teaches Stacy how to survive on rat blood, while Stacy helps Goody stay up-to-date with modern trends. Goody hides her true age, fearing Stacy might see her as old. During a vampire gathering, Goody learns that if their maker, Ciccerus, dies, she and Stacy will revert to their original human ages.
While working as an exterminator at a hospital, Goody unexpectedly meets her ex-boyfriend Danny (Richard Lewis), whom she hasn’t seen since the 1960s. They reconnect under the guise of her being Goody’s daughter, but Danny discovers the truth after witnessing her bite someone to prevent a stroke. Goody explains that though she loved Danny, she didn’t want to hinder his chance at a normal life with someone else.
Meanwhile, the government uses the Patriot Act to hunt vampires, causing chaos among their community. Goody devises a plan to erase and alter all vampire records in New York during a solar eclipse. After succeeding, the vampires celebrate with a party for both humans and non-humans, but their joy is threatened by Ciccerus, who massacres an entire restaurant after refusing to attend the gathering.
Stacy begins dating Joey (Dan Stevens), a college student. It’s later revealed that Joey is the son of the notorious vampire hunter Dr. Van Helsing (Wallace Shawn), who is in town to eliminate vampires. After spending the night at Joey’s place, he sees Stacy scaling down his apartment building to escape before sunrise.
