**Storyline:**
Vaastav begins with a family performing funeral rites for a deceased person on a riverbank. When the young son of the deceased asks his grandmother about the person, she starts recounting the story.
The film follows Raghunath Namdev Shivalkar, known as “Raghu” (Sanjay Dutt), and his best friend Dedh Footiya (Sanjay Narvekar), as they struggle to find work in Mumbai. Raghu lives in a Mumbai chawl with his retired father (Shivaji Satam), mother (Reema Lagoo), and an unemployed graduate brother (Mohnish Behl). To make ends meet, they decide to run a pav bhaji stall, which initially proves successful.
However, their lives take a dark turn when Fracture Bandya (Jack Gaud) and his men start harassing them at their stall. After enduring continuous abuse, Raghu and Dedh Footiya accidentally kill Fracture Bandya’s brother in a moment of anger. This sets off a chain of events, forcing them into the Mumbai underworld as they flee from the consequences of their actions.
As the story progresses, Raghu and Dedh Footiya become entangled with rival gang lord Vitthal Kaanya (Ashish Vidyarthi), who hires them as hitmen. Raghu quickly gains respect in the underworld, attracting the attention of the home minister Babban Rao (Mohan Joshi), who manipulates Raghu for his own purposes.
The film explores themes of crime, survival, and the consequences of choices in a gritty and compelling narrative.
