Description: Set in 2002 in the village of Uppada, Raayanam is a powerful zamindar who will stop at nothing to protect his family’s honor. His daughter, Sangeetha, lovingly called Bebamma, is a college student whom he fiercely guards. Raayanam intends to construct a shipping yard in his village by demolishing the homes of fishermen along the coast. Aasi, the son of one such fisherman named Jalayya, belongs to a low-caste Christian family. He becomes deeply enamored with Bebamma, who also starts to develop feelings for him after witnessing his bravery during a fight in the bazaar. Aasi begins following Bebamma daily on her bus ride to college. One day, when the bus breaks down, the driver asks Aasi to drop Bebamma, the only passenger, at her college. From then on, the two start meeting regularly at the beach and soon fall in love.
When the fish breeding season arrives, fishing is prohibited for over a month and a half. Despite this, Bebamma convinces Aasi to take her out to sea. However, their boat runs out of fuel, leaving them stranded. That same night, Raayanam orders the destruction of the coastal homes but grows anxious when his daughter fails to return. He secretly approaches Jalayya, offering to spare his house in exchange for finding his missing daughter. Aasi and Bebamma spend an intimate night together on the boat. The next morning, Jalayya discovers them and scolds Aasi. He returns Bebamma to her father, lying that she was found alone on the boat.
Determined to uncover the truth, Raayanam searches Bebamma’s wardrobe and finds a shirt belonging to Aasi, identifying him as the culprit. Raayanam’s men attack Aasi and his father during a village fair, resulting in Jalayya’s death. The following day, Bebamma flees her home and begs Aasi to elope with her. Reluctantly, he agrees, and they board a train to Odisha, evading Raayanam’s men.
