Description: Young couple Jamie and Maya live together in London. After discovering that Maya is pregnant, Jamie celebrates with her, but their joy is interrupted when a gang of hoodlums attacks them. Maya remains unharmed, but the incident prompts them to move to a peaceful new home in rural Ireland, inherited from Jamie’s late great-aunt. The house needs repairs, so they hire the local Whelan family as builders.
They receive a strange warning from Maeve, an old friend of Jamie’s aunt, who advises them to leave an offering of liver at the back garden door every night for the Red Caps, mythical creatures said to live in the forest. Initially dismissing it as superstition, Jamie and Maya soon encounter unsettling events.
As they settle into the house, they learn that Maeve lost her daughter under mysterious circumstances when the child was just two years old. The body was never found. Maeve shares a chilling tale, suggesting the child was sacrificed in a deal with the Red Caps to save her husband’s life. Maya suspects the tragedy might have been linked to postpartum depression.
Meanwhile, the Whelan family begins to reveal their violent and disturbing nature. The younger children, Aisling and Killian, frequently steal from the house, while the older son, Eoin, endures constant abuse from his father. One day, Maya is lured into the woods by a dog and discovers a stone shrine dedicated to the Red Caps.
While trying to return home, she encounters Eoin, who confides in her about his abusive father. When Maya offers him comfort, Eoin attempts to assault her but is abruptly dragged away by unseen forces, which Maya later believes to be the Red Caps.
That night, Jamie confronts Aisling and Killian at a pub, demanding answers about Eoin’s disappearance. Meanwhile, Maya is visited by a Red Cap, who presents her with Eoin’s severed head in a plastic bag.
