**Storyline:**
Laura Barns, a high school student, tragically ends her life by suicide after a video of her at an unsupervised party goes viral, showing her passing out and defecating. A year later, Blaire Lily, Laura’s former closest friend, is on a Skype call with her boyfriend, Mitch Roussel, discussing their plans to lose their virginity on prom night. Their conversation is joined by friends Jess Felton, Ken Smith, and Adam Sewell, as well as an unknown user named “billie227.”
Despite multiple attempts, the group fails to remove the mysterious intruder from the chat. Blaire discovers that the account belongs to Laura Barns, though the friends remain skeptical. They suspect Val Rommel, a classmate, of playing a prank on them. After inviting Val to the chat, Jess’s Facebook page is updated with embarrassing photos of Val. Jess deletes the photos, but they reappear on Adam’s account. Val receives a disturbing message or image, unseen by the others, which deeply upsets her.
Val calls 911 to report harassment and abruptly leaves the chat. The group receives a photo of Val alongside messages she sent to Laura before Laura’s death, including one telling Laura to kill herself. Val rejoins the chat, only to collapse next to a bottle of bleach. Police later confirm her death as a presumed suicide. The user “billie227” then sends personalized messages to each friend, exposing their secrets. For Blaire, this includes incriminating photos of her affair with Adam.
