**Storyline:**
High school student Laura Barns tragically ends her life with a gunshot after an anonymous user uploads a humiliating video of her at an unsupervised party, which goes viral. A year later, her former best friend, Blaire Lily, is video chatting with her boyfriend, Mitch Roussel, on Skype. They plan to lose their virginity to each other on prom night. Soon, their friends Jess Felton, Ken Smith, and Adam Sewell join the call, along with an unknown user named “billie227.”
The group attempts to remove the intruder but fails, and Blaire discovers that the account belongs to Laura Barns. They suspect a classmate, Val Rommel, is behind the prank. However, when they bring Val into the chat, Jess’s Facebook page gets updated with embarrassing photos of Val. Despite deleting the images, they reappear on Adam’s account. Val calls 911 to report harassment but suddenly leaves the chat. The group then receives old messages between Val and Laura, revealing Val’s cruel words urging Laura to end her life. Val reappears in the chat, unresponsive next to a bottle of bleach, and collapses. Police later confirm her presumed suicide.
Ken shares a program to remove “billie227,” and Adam tries calling the police, only to find the operator is the intruder. The intruder re-enters the chat, showing a camera view from Ken’s room, and Ken tragically takes his own life. Laura forces the remaining friends to play a deadly game segment, threatening that the loser will die.
