Description: In the year 1202, a group led by the three vampire elders—Markus, Viktor, and Amelia—arrives at a village inhabited by Werewolves. Viktor and Amelia capture their target, William Corvinus, the first and most powerful werewolf, who is also Markus’s twin brother. Despite Markus’s objections, Viktor orders that William be imprisoned in a hidden location permanently.
In the modern era, Selene, a vampiress, takes Michael to a secure location as she plans to confront Kraven, the vampire regent, who intends to kill Markus. However, Markus awakens before Kraven can act and kills him and his followers. Alexander Corvinus, known as Lorenz Macaro, an immortal and the ancestor of both vampires and Lycans, sends a team to investigate the aftermath of the battle in the Lycans’ lair. Upon examining Viktor’s corpse, Macaro discovers a metal disc that matches a pendant originally worn by Sonja. The other half of the pendant is now in Michael’s possession after Lucian’s death.
Using information obtained from Kraven’s blood, Markus tracks down Selene and Michael, attacking them, but they manage to escape and hide in a warehouse. There, Selene and Michael share their emotions and become intimate. Realizing the pendant’s importance to Markus, they set out to uncover its significance. Selene recalls seeing it in her childhood but does not understand its meaning. They travel to consult Andreas Tanis, an exiled vampire historian.
Tanis reveals that Markus was the first vampire, one of the three sons of Alexander Corvinus, the original immortal. Markus was transformed into a vampire after being bitten by a bat, while William became a werewolf after being bitten by a wolf. The third son remained human, leading to a line of mortal descendants, including Michael, who became the first Lycan-Vampire hybrid. The werewolves created by William were completely animalistic and unable to revert to human form. Due to William’s destructive nature, Markus approached Viktor, a dying warlord, and offered to transform him and his army into vampires in exchange for capturing and stopping William and eliminating those he had infected. Viktor spared the brothers, believing their deaths would result in the extinction of all vampires and their Lycan slaves.
