**Storyline:**
Seventeen-year-old Rohan is expelled from Bishop Cotton boarding school in Shimla along with three of his friends after they are caught watching an adult film outside the campus at night. Returning home to Jamshedpur, Rohan reunites with his stern, abusive, and alcoholic father, Bhairav Singh, and discovers he has a six-year-old half-brother, Arjun, whom he had never known about. Bhairav forces Rohan to follow a strict routine, including morning runs, working at his metalworking factory, and attending engineering classes at a local university. Despite his father’s constant verbal and physical abuse, Rohan secretly aspires to become a writer, a dream supported by his uncle, Jimmy.
In an attempt to escape his father’s control, Rohan deliberately fails his examinations, hoping Bhairav will give up on him. However, after losing an important contract, Bhairav becomes even more aggressive. Rohan later discovers that Arjun was beaten by their father, prompting him to protect his younger brother. When Bhairav learns about Rohan’s failure, he lashes out violently but later apologizes. Bhairav announces his plans to remarry and sends Arjun to boarding school while forcing Rohan to quit college and work full-time at the factory. When Jimmy offers to take Arjun in, Bhairav insults him and throws him out of the house. In a final act of control, Bhairav burns Rohan’s diary containing all his poems and introduces his new wife and stepdaughter.
