Best friends Wallace Bryton and Teddy Craft host a popular podcast called *The Not-See Party*, where they ridicule viral videos. Wallace travels to Canada to interview the *Kill Bill* Kid, an internet celebrity known for cutting off his leg with a katana. Upon arriving in Manitoba, he discovers the *Kill Bill* Kid has committed suicide. Frustrated by his wasted trip, Wallace searches for another interview subject.
He finds a flyer offering free lodging in exchange for sharing interesting stories. Curious, he visits the mansion of Howard Howe, a retired seaman confined to a wheelchair. Howard recounts a tale of being rescued by a walrus named “Mr. Tusk” after a shipwreck. Wallace unknowingly drinks tea laced with secobarbital and loses consciousness.
The next morning, Wallace wakes up strapped to a wheelchair, his leg amputated. Howard reveals he can walk and shares his plan to transform Wallace into a walrus by fitting him into a costume made of human skin. After Wallace sends a desperate voicemail to his girlfriend Ally and Teddy, Howard knocks him out again.
Ally and Teddy, realizing Wallace is in danger, fly to Canada. Meanwhile, Howard continues to mutilate Wallace, sewing him into the walrus costume and using tibia bones from Wallace’s severed legs as tusks. Howard reveals his traumatic past as a Duplessis orphan, abused by the clergy for years.
A local detective connects Ally and Teddy with Guy LaPointe, a former inspector from the Sûreté du Québec who has been pursuing Howard for years. In a burger joint, LaPointe explains that Howard, nicknamed “The First Wife,” has a history of kidnapping and murdering people. He warns that Wallace may still be alive but unrecognizable.
