Description: Trolls is a 2016 animated film that tells the story of small, vibrant, and perpetually joyful creatures who spend their days singing, dancing, and hugging. However, their lives take a dark turn when they are discovered by the Bergens, large and miserable beings who believe happiness can only be achieved by consuming Trolls. The Bergens capture the Trolls and keep them locked in a caged tree, eating them annually during a celebration known as Trollstice.
During one such event, Prince Gristle Jr., son of King Gristle, is set to eat his first Troll. However, the Troll King Peppy escapes with his infant daughter, Princess Poppy, and the rest of the Troll population. Enraged, King Gristle banishes the chef responsible for the ceremony, who vows to find the Trolls and reclaim her honor.
Twenty years later, Princess Poppy organizes a grand party to celebrate the anniversary of their escape. Branch, a cautious and pessimistic Troll, warns against the extravagance, fearing it will expose their location. His fears are confirmed when the exiled chef finds and kidnaps several Trolls, including Creek, Poppy’s love interest. Determined to save them, Poppy sets off on a perilous journey, with Branch reluctantly joining her.
In Bergen Town, Poppy and Branch discover the kidnapped Trolls guarded by Bridget, a scullery maid secretly in love with King Gristle Jr. Poppy convinces Bridget to help them in exchange for assistance in winning Gristle’s affection. Along the way, Branch reveals his tragic past: he stopped singing after his voice led Chef to his grandmother, who was presumably eaten, turning him grey from guilt.
The film is a heartwarming tale of resilience, friendship, and the pursuit of happiness, blending adventure with humor and music.
