The story follows Santiago “Pope” Garcia, a private military adviser combating drug crime in Colombia. He meets an informant named Yovanna, who offers him the location of a drug lord named Lorea in exchange for helping her and her brother escape the country. Yovanna reveals that Lorea lives in a secluded jungle house with $75 million in cash. Pope travels to the United States to recruit his former Delta Force teammates: Tom “Redfly” Davis, a realtor; William “Ironhead” Miller, a motivational speaker; his brother Ben “Benny” Miller, an MMA fighter; and Francisco “Catfish” Morales, a former pilot. He convinces them to steal the money for themselves under the guise of working for the Colombian government.
The team plans to strike Lorea’s house while his family attends church to avoid casualties. They overpower the guards but initially struggle to find Lorea or the money. Pope realizes the cash is hidden in the walls, and the group discovers far more money than expected. As they rush to pack the cash, Redfly becomes obsessed with the money, pushing the team to load more than planned. They eventually convince him to leave on time.
While conducting a final sweep for Lorea, he ambushes the group and wounds Ironhead. Pope kills Lorea, and the team tends to Ironhead’s injury. As Lorea’s family returns with additional guards, the crew eliminates the threats, burns down the house, and escapes with $250 million in cash, leaving the family unharmed.
The group meets Yovanna and her brother at an airfield, where they are provided with a Mil Mi-8 helicopter to reach a getaway boat off the coast of Peru. However, Catfish warns that the helicopter may not handle the weight of the money and the altitude needed to cross the Andes Mountains.
