Description: **Tragedy Girls (2017)**
**Plot Summary:**
McKayla Hooper and Sadie Cunningham are high school seniors living in the small Midwestern town of Rosedale. They run a popular true crime blog called *Tragedy Girls* and are obsessed with gaining more followers. To boost their blog’s popularity, they lure a local serial killer, Lowell Orson Lehmann, using their friend Craig as bait. However, when Lehmann refuses to cooperate, the girls decide to keep him captive and take matters into their own hands. They begin committing murders themselves while framing Lehmann as the culprit.
When Craig mysteriously disappears, he is presumed to have run away. McKayla, Sadie, and their friend Jordan try to convince the town that a serial killer is on the loose, but their claims only anger Jordan’s father, Sheriff Welch. Frustrated by their lack of attention, the girls murder McKayla’s ex-boyfriend Toby after he gains more Twitter followers than them. Toby’s death is ruled an accident, leaving the girls infuriated.
Their next victim is Syl, the cheerleading captain, whose body they dismember to ensure her death is classified as a homicide. At Syl’s memorial service, a firefighter named Big Al vows to catch the killer. Meanwhile, Lehmann tries to manipulate McKayla into turning against Sadie, claiming Sadie is using her.
The girls plot to kill Big Al at the gym. Although he puts up a fight, they manage to stab him and decapitate him with a bench press. Jordan later reveals he has stolen the serial killer case files from his father.
As chaos escalates, Mayor Campbell calls an emergency town meeting. McKayla and Sadie exploit the situation by exposing the town’s law enforcement as incompetent, even sharing a graphic image of Big Al’s severed head. Their actions incite the townspeople to revolt, leading to a public march against the killer.
