Description: Josh Kovaks serves as the building manager of The Tower, a luxurious apartment complex in New York City. Its penthouse is occupied by Wall Street billionaire Arthur Shaw. After Josh entrusted the staff’s pensions to Shaw, they lost everything when Shaw was placed under house arrest by the FBI for orchestrating a massive Ponzi scheme, embezzling up to $2 billion. Josh, along with his brother-in-law Charlie, the concierge, and elevator operator Enrique, are fired for confronting Shaw about his actions.
Drunken FBI agent Claire Denham hints to Josh that Shaw might have hidden $20 million as a reserve and suggests Josh steal it. Determined, Josh teams up with Charlie, Enrique, and evicted tenant Mr. Fitzhugh to reclaim the money. To compensate for their lack of expertise, they recruit Josh’s childhood friend Slide, a petty criminal, and the building’s maid Odessa Montero, who has locksmith skills.
Denham informs Josh that Shaw is scheduled to appear in court on Thanksgiving during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, providing the perfect opportunity for the team to break into Shaw’s apartment. Meanwhile, Charlie, rehired as the building’s new manager, grows uneasy about the plan and warns Josh to abandon it, threatening to report him to the police if he proceeds.
During the heist, Slide tries to betray the team by accessing the safe first and taking the money for himself, having tricked Odessa into teaching him. However, the team intercepts him, only to find Shaw’s safe empty. In the chaos, they discover gold hidden beneath the paint of a Ferrari 250 GT Lusso displayed in Shaw’s apartment. They realize Shaw converted his money into gold, crafted it into car parts, and reassembled the vehicle to conceal his wealth in plain sight.
