Storyline:
Hopper, an archaeology professor, investigates a remote cave system in search of missing hippies from the 1970s. During his exploration, he finds a cowboy seemingly frozen in place within a tunnel. Returning to town, Hopper informs his graduate students, Taylor and Jackie, that their research is completed.
Days later, when Hopper fails to return, Taylor grows concerned for his safety. Along with Jackie and their friend Cara—who is accompanied by her sister Veeves and Veeves’ best friend Furby—they decide to search for him. The group follows Hopper’s trail to a campsite near the cave entrance, where they find climbing ropes leading inside. While the others descend into the cave, Furby stays behind as backup.
Inside the cave, the group hears strange noises. When Furby doesn’t respond to their radio calls, Jackie attempts to climb back out but falls due to a frayed rope, injuring herself and Taylor. As they call for help, they receive a transmission from within the cave and decide to follow it.
At another section, they discover an overhead cave opening and find Furby dead with a broken neck. Reviewing his video recordings, they realize that while only an hour passed in the cave, several days had elapsed for Furby. His recordings reveal that the missing hippies were actually Hopper’s parents, who were pursuing legends of the Fountain of Youth. Hopper’s search was for his missing sister, and the cave system was believed to be linked to the myth.
