Description: “Ticket to Paradise” (2022) tells the story of David and Georgia Cotton, a divorced couple who deeply regret their failed marriage that ended two decades ago. Their daughter, Lily, graduates from law school and travels to Bali for a vacation with her friend and fellow graduate, Wren. During a snorkeling trip, their boat accidentally leaves them behind, but they are rescued by Gede, a young Balinese seaweed farmer. Lily and Gede quickly form a connection.
Thirty-seven days later, Lily informs her parents via email that she plans to marry Gede and settle in Bali, abandoning her legal career before it even begins. Concerned that Lily is rushing into marriage, David and Georgia set aside their differences and team up to convince her to reconsider. They travel to Bali with a hidden agenda to disrupt the wedding, though they outwardly pretend to support her decision.
During their stay, David and Georgia start to rebuild their relationship and get to know Gede and his large family. Meanwhile, Georgia’s boyfriend, Paul, unexpectedly arrives in Bali to propose, but his attempts are repeatedly thwarted by mishaps.
When Lily discovers her parents’ plan to sabotage her wedding, she demands they either fully support her or leave Bali. Realizing they risk losing their daughter forever, David and Georgia finally embrace her choice. The wedding proceeds in accordance with Balinese tradition, marking a new chapter for everyone involved.
