**Storyline:**
CIA agents and best friends Franklin “FDR” Foster (Chris Pine) and Tuck Hansen (Tom Hardy) are sent to Hong Kong to stop international criminal Karl Heinrich (Til Schweiger) from obtaining a weapon of mass destruction. The mission goes wrong, resulting in the death of Heinrich’s brother, Jonas. Heinrich vows revenge. Back in the United States, their boss, Collins (Angela Bassett), assigns them to desk duty for their safety.
FDR, a womanizer posing as a cruise ship captain, and Tuck, a divorced travel agent with a young son, Joe (John Paul Ruttan), try to adjust to their new roles. After attending Joe’s karate class, Tuck attempts to reconnect with his ex-wife, Katie (Abigail Spencer), but is rejected. Inspired by an online dating commercial, Tuck signs up and matches with Lauren Scott (Reese Witherspoon), a product-testing executive dealing with her ex-boyfriend’s recent engagement. Her best friend, Trish (Chelsea Handler), had enrolled her on the dating site.
FDR insists on being Tuck’s backup during his date with Lauren and hides nearby. Tuck and Lauren hit it off immediately. Later, FDR encounters Lauren at a video store and tries to flirt with her, unaware she is Tuck’s date. Lauren, sensing his playboy nature, ignores him. Intrigued, FDR crashes one of Lauren’s test groups and convinces her to go on a date with him.
Soon, FDR and Tuck realize they are dating the same woman. They agree not to interfere with each other’s dates, not to reveal their friendship to Lauren, and to let her decide between them.
