Description: Jay Baruchel arrives in Los Angeles to visit his old friend and fellow Canadian actor Seth Rogen. Seth invites him to a housewarming party hosted by James Franco. Jay feels uneasy at the crowded event, so Seth accompanies him to a convenience store. Suddenly, beams of blue light descend, sucking numerous people into the sky. Seth and Jay rush back to James’s house. Shortly after, an earthquake hits, and a sinkhole opens in James’s yard, killing several celebrities. Seth, Jay, James, Jonah Hill, and Craig Robinson retreat inside the house. Jay informs the remaining guests that the earthquake has devastated much of Los Angeles. They organize their supplies, set up a ration system, and secure the house, waiting for help.
The next morning, Danny McBride, who had crashed the party, wakes up and carelessly consumes most of the group’s food and water, unaware of the crisis. He dismisses the others’ accounts of the previous night’s events until he witnesses a man being decapitated by an unseen creature. Tensions escalate due to various conflicts, including the growing rift between Jay and Seth, as well as the others’ skepticism about Jay’s belief that the disaster might be the Apocalypse foretold in the Book of Revelation. Emma Watson arrives at James’s house but misunderstands the group’s intentions, fearing they plan to harm her. She leaves, taking the group’s remaining supplies.
Craig ventures into James’s cellar for water but encounters a mysterious being, which convinces him that Jay’s theory might be correct. Jay and Seth dig through the floor to find water, but Danny spitefully wastes most of it, leading the group to expel him.
