Description: Zoya Singh Solanki, played by Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, faces constant bad luck in both her personal and professional life. Her struggles reach a peak when her wealthy dentist boyfriend leaves her, and her boss at the advertising agency becomes increasingly frustrated with her poor performance. However, her fortunes take an unexpected turn when she is sent to Sri Lanka to film an advertisement with the Indian cricket team. There, she accidentally encounters Nikhil Khoda, portrayed by Dulquer Salmaan, the team’s captain who firmly believes in hard work and rejects his team’s reliance on superstitions.
During a breakfast meeting with the team, Zoya reveals she was born on the day India won its first World Cup. This leads the team to believe she could be their lucky charm, especially after they win a match in Sri Lanka. While Nikhil is drawn to Zoya, he is annoyed by the media attributing their success to her presence. Tensions rise between Nikhil and Robin, the former team captain, whose uncle serves as the President of the Board. Upon learning of Zoya’s supposed luck, the Board decides to hire her as their official mascot, which Nikhil opposes. He asks Zoya to leave, but later apologizes and confesses his feelings for her, which she happily reciprocates.
Zoya declines the Board’s offer and focuses on her relationship with Nikhil. To bring her back, Robin offers AWB another advertising contract, with Zoya leading the project. This opportunity not only strengthens her career but also allows her to spend more time with Nikhil. Despite their efforts to keep their relationship private, Robin eventually discovers their affair and warns Zoya, claiming Nikhil’s intentions are self-serving and aimed at elevating his own status.
