Description: “The Yin-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity” is a 2020 Chinese fantasy film. Centuries ago, a serpent demon emerged from human desires. Four masters united to seal it within the Empress’s body, guarded by four stone guardians. Whenever the serpent threatens to return, four successors must journey to the Imperial City to awaken the guardians.
As the serpent’s resurgence looms, four masters—Hongruo, Longye (played by Jessie Li), Bo Ya (Deng Lun), and Qing Ming (Mark Chao)—gather in the Imperial City. Qing Ming and Bo Ya clash due to their opposing views on demons but must work together after Hongruo is killed by a Hair Demon.
The Empress assigns Princess Zhang Ping (Olivia Wang) to investigate, and palace priest He Shouyue (Wang Duo) replaces Hongruo. Qing Ming discovers Shouyue is a Spirit Guardian of his late master, Zhongxing, tasked with protecting the Empress. However, Shouyue is dying due to Zhongxing’s death.
Tensions rise after an assassination attempt on the Empress. Mistrust spreads among the masters. Longye is accused but is killed by the Hair Demon before revealing her findings. Her dying words lead Qing Ming to suspect the Princess, while Bo Ya accuses Shouyue.
Meanwhile, the Princess confronts Shouyue, her accomplice, for killing Hongruo and Longye. Shouyue justifies their deaths, insisting that Bo Ya and Qing Ming must also be eliminated to protect their plot.
The film blends mystery, fantasy, and action as the masters uncover a conspiracy tied to the serpent demon’s return.
