**Storyline:**
Gary King, a 40-year-old alcoholic, clings to the mentality of his teenage years, while his four childhood friends—Oliver Chamberlain, Peter Page, Steven Prince, and Andrew Knightley—have all moved on and matured. The group drifted apart from Gary until he reaches out, hoping to relive their youth by completing the “Golden Mile.” This is a pub crawl involving twelve pubs in their hometown, Newton Haven, with the final stop being The World’s End. They had attempted the crawl 23 years earlier on their last day of school but failed to reach the last three pubs.
Andrew, now a teetotaler due to a drunk-driving accident involving Gary years ago, reluctantly agrees to join. Along the way, they encounter Oliver’s sister, Sam, with whom Gary and Steven had a rivalry in school. As they progress through the pubs, they notice the townspeople acting strangely and not recognizing them. At one point, Gary gets into a fight with a teenager in a bathroom and accidentally knocks off his head, revealing him to be an android.
The group soon discovers that the entire town has been replaced by android simulants. Shocked by the revelation, Andrew abandons his teetotal lifestyle as they face off against the android inhabitants. The World’s End is a gripping blend of comedy, action, and science fiction as the friends confront both their past and an unexpected alien threat.
