Marina, a carefree wedding planner, has a one-night stand with Carlos, who is in a relationship with Alexia. When Alexia finds Marina’s business card among Carlos’s belongings, she mistakenly interprets it as a marriage proposal. The couple eventually hires Marina, who turns out to be an old acquaintance of Alexia, to plan their wedding.
Javier Ocaña from El País described the film as a decent comedy, though he noted that it closely resembles the French original, making it artistically disappointing despite its commercial appeal.
Manu Piñón of Fotogramas gave the film 3 out of 5 stars, praising the comedic performances of Cuesta and García. Beatriz Martínez from El Periódico de Catalunya rated it 2 out of 5 stars, calling it a functional but unoriginal film. Rubén Romero Santos of Cinemanía rated it 3.5 out of 5 stars, suggesting the trend of remakes might deserve more appreciation and noting that the wedding reception scene, while similar to the French version, leaves a better impression.
The film was pre-screened on February 6, 2020, in Paterna and officially released in Spain on February 14, 2020, by A Contracorriente Films. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic causing the closure of Spanish theaters on March 13, 2020, it became the fourth highest-grossing Spanish film of 2020, earning approximately €2.7 million with over 452,000 admissions.
An adaptation of the 2017 French film *Jour J*, the screenplay was written by Olatz Arroyo, Marta Sánchez, and Eric Navarro. Produced by Atresmedia Cine and Álamo Producciones Audiovisuales, with participation from Movistar+ and Orange, the film was shot in Tenerife and Madrid. Production duties were handled by Eduardo Campoy, Mercedes Gamero, and Mikel Lejarza.
