Description: Mary Fiore, a driven wedding planner in San Francisco, is reintroduced to Massimo, a childhood acquaintance, by her father, Salvatore, who hopes they will marry. However, Mary declines. Eager to prove herself, she aims to become a partner at her company and is hired to organize the wedding of Fran Donolly, a catering heiress, to her longtime boyfriend, “Eddie.” While reporting her success, Mary’s shoe gets stuck in a manhole cover. As she struggles to free herself, a dumpster hurtles toward her, but she is saved by a nearby man before fainting.
At the hospital, Mary meets her rescuer, Steve Edison, a pediatrician. Her colleague, Penny, convinces Steve to join them for an outdoor movie, leaving Mary and Steve alone. The two share a dance, but a sudden rainstorm interrupts their moment. Later, during a dance lesson with a client, Mary discovers that Fran’s fiancé, “Eddie,” is none other than Steve. Outraged, Mary confronts Steve for misleading her.
Penny advises Mary to prioritize her career over her feelings and continue planning Fran and Steve’s wedding. Meanwhile, Steve’s colleague reassures him that his connection with Mary is just pre-wedding nerves. When visiting a wedding venue in Napa Valley, Massimo unexpectedly appears, introducing himself as Mary’s fiancé, much to her dismay. During a ride, Mrs. Donelly’s singing frightens Mary’s horse, and Steve rescues her again, criticizing her for judging him while she was also engaged.
At home, Mary scolds her father for arranging her relationship with Massimo. Salvatore reveals that his own marriage to Mary’s mother was arranged and only blossomed into love later, leaving Mary conflicted. While visiting another potential venue, Fran departs on a business trip, leaving Mary and Steve to finalize preparations. The two reconcile, apologize for their harsh words, and gradually become friends.
