Description: In Seattle, near Forks, Victoria attacks Riley Biers to create an army of newborn vampires, seeking revenge on Edward Cullen for killing her true love, James. Meanwhile, in Forks, Edward and Bella Swan talk about the challenges of Bella becoming a vampire. At eighteen, Bella is hesitant to marry so young, but Edward insists they wed before he turns her into a vampire, believing she should experience human life fully. As Charlie Swan investigates Riley’s disappearance, Edward suspects newborn vampires are involved, especially after Riley breaks into Bella’s room.
Despite Edward’s concerns for her safety, Bella believes Jacob Black and the werewolf pack would never harm her. She visits Jacob in La Push and returns unharmed. During one visit, Jacob confesses his love for Bella and kisses her forcefully, prompting her to punch him and sprain her hand. Edward later warns Jacob to respect Bella’s boundaries. Though Bella initially revokes Jacob’s invitation to her graduation party, she forgives him after he apologizes.
Alice, Edward’s sister, sees a vision of Riley leading a newborn army to attack Forks. Jacob and his pack overhear this, leading to an alliance between the Cullens and the werewolves. They meet to train and strategize against the impending threat. During training, Jasper shares his past with Bella, explaining how he was created by a vampire named Maria to control a newborn army. After meeting Alice, he left that life behind and joined the Cullens. Bella witnesses the deep bond between Jasper and Alice, gaining a better understanding of their relationship.
