Description: The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is a 1974 horror film that follows the terrifying ordeal of Sally Hardesty, her paraplegic brother Franklin, and their friends Jerry, Kirk, and Pam. The group visits the grave of the Hardestys’ grandfather to investigate reports of vandalism and grave robbing. Later, they decide to explore the old Hardesty family homestead. On their way, they pick up a hitchhiker who discusses his family’s connection to a local slaughterhouse. After a violent altercation, the group forces him out of their van and continues their journey.
They stop at a gas station to refuel but are informed that the pumps are empty. Determined to continue, they head to the homestead, planning to return to the gas station later. Upon arrival, Franklin tells Kirk and Pam about a nearby swimming hole, and the couple sets off to find it. Instead, they stumble upon a house. Kirk enters looking for fuel but is brutally killed by Leatherface, a masked man wearing human skin. Pam witnesses the horrors inside the house but is also captured and killed.
Jerry goes out to search for Pam and Kirk, only to meet the same fate at the hands of Leatherface. As night falls, Sally and Franklin set out to find their missing friends. Tragically, they too encounter Leatherface, who kills Franklin with a chainsaw. Sally manages to escape by jumping through a window and flees to the gas station, where she hopes to find help.
