Kyle and Sarah are later captured by the police after another encounter with the Terminator. However, the Terminator attacks the police station, killing officers while searching for Sarah. The pair manages to escape, steal another car, and hide in a motel. There, they prepare pipe bombs and strategize their next move. Kyle confesses his love for Sarah, having admired her since John showed him her photograph. Sarah reciprocates his feelings, and they share an intimate moment.
