Description: “The Teacher’s Diary,” released in 2014, tells the story of two lonely teachers, a man and a woman, who are assigned to the same rural school but a year apart. The female teacher, assigned first, starts writing her thoughts in a diary to cope with her isolation. When she is transferred to another school, she leaves the diary behind. Later, the male teacher arrives as her replacement and discovers the diary. As he reads her entries, he becomes deeply inspired and falls in love with the unknown writer. He begins adding his own thoughts to the diary. Eventually, he also leaves the school, and the female teacher returns, finding his entries. She too develops feelings for him but struggles to locate him. Will fate bring them together?
In 2012, Song, a former wrestling athlete, becomes a teacher at the rural school, which has only four students and one teacher. The diary of Ann, a former teacher, becomes his only source of comfort in his loneliness. Through her writings, he learns about her experiences at the school and grows to admire her, feeling a deep connection despite never having met her. He yearns to meet her but doesn’t know where to begin.
In 2013, Ann returns to the same rural school and discovers her diary, now filled with Song’s stories. She wonders why he left and where he is now. The school, once filled with her memories, now holds new meaning with Song’s presence in her life.
The floating school featured in the film is inspired by a real location called Bann Ko Jatson School (Floating Classroom Branch) in Li District, Lamphun Province, Northern Thailand. However, the floating school scenes were filmed at Kang Ka Jan Natural Park in Phetchaburi Province.”
