Description: The Scorpion King: Book of Souls, released in 2018, tells a thrilling story set in ancient Egypt. King Memtep forges a pact with Anubis, the god of the underworld, to create a cursed sword of immense power. This sword, known as the Fang of Anubis, grants its wielder the ability to dominate the world by absorbing the souls of their enemies. The names of those slain by the sword are recorded in the mystical Book of Souls.
Nebserek loots the tomb of King Memtep and seizes the Fang of Anubis. His lieutenant, Khensa, captures the blacksmith Mathayus, whom they mistakenly believe to be the Scorpion King. During the confrontation, Khensa kills Mathayus’ friend, Abel. Mathayus is later rescued by Tala, a Nubian warrior, who heals him using scorpion venom. Tala reveals that her father, Balthazar, the King of Nubia, instructed her to seek the Scorpion King to restore peace in Egypt. She convinces Mathayus to join her in a mission to overthrow Nebserek’s tyrannical rule.
Meanwhile, Nebserek learns from his priestess that the sword can be destroyed by the Book of Souls, prompting him to search for it. Mathayus and Tala, on their journey to the Valley of the 13th Moon, encounter Uruk, leader of the Black Arrows, who captures them for trespassing. After proving his strength and honor by defeating Uruk’s men, Mathayus earns his respect and is set free.
The duo then reaches the Temple of Scrolls, where Tala uses a special lens to open its sacred gate. Inside, they face Enkidu, a golem created from clay to guard the temple. They meet Amina, who reveals she is the embodiment of the Book of Souls and feels the pain of those whose lives were taken by the Fang of Anubis. Determined to protect her, Mathayus traps Enkidi in a cave with a wall of fire, and they continue their quest toward the tomb of Memtep.
