The story begins with Cassandra’s death, leaving Mathayus devastated after her prophecy about his kingdom’s inevitable downfall comes true. Following a deadly plague that takes his wife’s life, Mathayus abandons his throne and returns to his former life as a mercenary. Meanwhile, Talus, the ambitious younger brother of Horus, the Egyptian king, seeks to conquer his brother’s kingdom. To achieve this, Talus travels to the Far East to steal the Book of the Dead from Ramusan, Horus’ ally.
Horus enlists Mathayus to stop Talus, pairing him with Olaf, a fierce Teutonic warrior. Talus kidnaps Ramusan’s daughter, Silda, prompting Ramusan to offer Mathayus her hand in marriage and a chance to rebuild his kingdom if he rescues her. However, Silda is captured by a ninja army led by a mysterious figure known as “Cobra.” Talus hires Mathayus and Olaf to retrieve the princess and bring him Cobra’s head.
Their journey leads them to an exiles’ camp, where they discover Cobra is actually Silda herself. Meanwhile, Talus steals the Book of the Dead from Ramusan’s palace, using its power to resurrect powerful warriors: Zulu Kondo, Agromael, and Tsukai. He tests their strength by ordering them to kill his own men, which they accomplish effortlessly.
Tsukai and Zulu Kondo are sent to attack the exiles’ camp. Mathayus, Olaf, and Silda’s ninjas successfully defeat Zulu Kondo, but Tsukai escapes. Mathayus and Olaf return to Ramusan’s palace, now controlled by Talus, pretending to have rescued Silda and presenting a severed head they claim belongs to Cobra.
The film is a thrilling tale of betrayal, redemption, and epic battles, as Mathayus fights to reclaim his honor and stop Talus’ ruthless ambition.
