Description: Emad and Rana, a married couple, both work in the theater and are currently performing in Arthur Miller’s *Death of a Salesman*, with Emad playing Willy Loman and Rana as Linda. Emad also teaches at a local school, where students jokingly call him a “salesman.” One night, their apartment begins to collapse, forcing them and other residents to flee. In need of a new home, fellow actor Babak helps them secure another apartment, which was hastily abandoned by the previous tenant, leaving behind many personal belongings.
While Emad is away, Rana is alone at home and begins bathing. When Emad returns, he finds her missing and the bathroom covered in blood. He rushes to the hospital, where neighbors inform him about his wife’s condition and advise him to change the apartment’s locks. It becomes clear that Rana was not injured accidentally but was assaulted by an intruder. Emad also learns from neighbors that the former tenant was a prostitute who had frequent conflicts with her clients.
Rana returns home but struggles with severe trauma, avoiding the bathroom and refusing to report the incident to the police. During a performance, she breaks down in tears and leaves the stage. Though she cannot recall the attacker’s face, Emad discovers the intruder left behind car keys, which lead him to a pickup truck parked outside. The assailant also left a mobile phone and money that Rana mistakenly used to buy groceries, believing Emad had provided it.
As Emad grows increasingly frustrated, he blames Babak for concealing the truth about the apartment’s previous tenant. After hearing a heartfelt message from Babak on the former tenant’s answering machine, Emad lashes out during a performance, calling Babak’s character Charley a degenerate—an improvised line not in Miller’s original script.
