Description: In present-day Taiwan, tensions rise between medical professionals and government officials regarding the “Alvin” virus, a flu-like illness. Despite warnings from virologists about its potential to mutate into a severe disease, the government has avoided implementing widespread measures to curb its spread. Many citizens remain skeptical about the virus’s existence. Amid this chaos, a young couple, Jim and Kat, live in Taipei. While driving to the train station, they witness a gruesome crime scene. Jim drops Kat off and heads to a nearby café, where a visibly infected woman with darkened eyes violently attacks customers, spreading chaos. Jim narrowly escapes and returns to his apartment, pursued by infected individuals. He urges Kat to stay safe, promising to rescue her.
Meanwhile, Kat’s train is attacked by infected men who stab passengers and spread the virus. Among the attackers is a businessman obsessed with Kat, whose rejection triggers his violent impulses. As the infected slaughter others, Kat escapes with Molly, a woman injured during the attack. However, the businessman, armed with an axe, relentlessly pursues them.
