In Rome, Italian detective Mario Lavazza (Guiseppe Zeno) and his team discover a gruesome crime scene where a young woman has been tortured, her body parts meticulously removed in a ritualistic manner. Meanwhile, in Jackson, Mississippi, detective Lucas Boyd (Cole Hauser) and his partner (Murielle Hilaire) confront a criminal holding a runaway girl in a hotel room. Still grieving the loss of his teenage daughter, Boyd delivers harsh justice once his partner ensures the girl’s safety. Nearby, at Milsaps College, Professor Mackles (Morgan Freeman) teaches African studies, focusing on the dark practices of tribal medicine.
Lavazza pursues a suspect, Randoku (Vernon Davis), through the streets of Rome at night. Despite his massive size, Randoku moves with agility, leaving a trail of destroyed police officers in his wake. Back in Mississippi, Boyd takes on the hunt for a serial killer whose murders align with a brutal tribal ritual known as Muti. Seeking assistance from Professor Mackles, Boyd uncovers a terrifying secret about the anthropologist.
