Description: Sandy, a housewife and mother of two, learns that her husband has been unfaithful. After a quick divorce, she relocates to New York City with her young son and daughter to start anew. She rents an apartment above a coffee shop and befriends Aram Finklestein, a 25-year-old barista unsure about his future. Aram, recently separated from a wife who married him for a green card, takes a job at a women’s center. During a self-defense class where Aram plays the role of the aggressor, Sandy releases her pent-up anger. The next day, she apologizes and asks him to babysit her children. He becomes their full-time nanny, bonding closely with the kids while a romantic connection develops between him and Sandy, leading to an awkward encounter that the children discover.
Despite the initial awkwardness, Sandy and Aram begin dating and seem perfectly matched. Two months later, Sandy feels nauseated and suspects she might be pregnant. Aram is excited at the prospect, but a doctor confirms it’s an ectopic pregnancy that will result in a miscarriage. As they leave the clinic, an argument erupts, with Sandy admitting she doubts their relationship can work due to their 15-year age gap. Heartbroken, Aram decides to travel the world and explore new experiences. Meanwhile, Sandy advances in her career as a sports news anchor.
Five years later, the two coincidentally cross paths again at a Chinese restaurant.
